Olympic inspiration

17th August 2012

With Olympic fever gripping the nation, we can confidently assume that we were not the only ones glued to our television screen recently. The London 2012 Olympics Games provided 16 jam packed days of exhilaration and inspiration.

While watching the Games, the team here at Fortitude Financial Planning discussed just how much we can learn from the athletes who competed. Four years of intense planning and preparation: from early mornings to gruelling training regimes, possible injuries and all of the associated sacrifices to perform at the highest level – often for just a few minutes – is truly an inspiration. We realise that it is this planning and careful preparation before the actual event that makes a successful Olympian.

“The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses – behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights”
Muhammad Ali, Olympic gold medallist 1960.

Behind the scenes, the athletes’ training programme is supported by incredibly competent and experienced coaches, devoted to teaching them the skills and spirit that define a true athlete.

Coaches identify an athlete’s abilities and build on those strengths to help them to improve, reach their full potential and realise their dreams.

Similarly, Financial Planners help to guide their clients towards achieving the ultimate goal of financial freedom. As with athletes at the games, the most important drivers of success are planning and preparation.

At Fortitude we will define your needs and help you to develop a plan for your future. With the knowledge of where you want to be and a detailed plan of how you are going to get there, you will be able to proactively work towards achieving your lifestyle goals.

Our Financial Planners will help you to prepare for the future, course correcting along the way, just like the coaches who helped the athletes to prepare for the Olympics.
